Ingredients

For the truffles
  • 1 package Oreo cookies Choose Double Stuf for a creamier filling.
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened Consider using low-fat cream cheese for a lighter version.
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (milk or dark) Opt for high-quality chocolate for better flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil Optional for melting chocolate.

Method

Preparation
  1. Crush the Oreos: Use a food processor to crush the Oreo cookies into fine crumbs for about 15 seconds, until you achieve a sandy texture.
  2. Mix Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, combine the crushed Oreos with softened cream cheese. Stir until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
  3. Roll the Mixture: Using your hands, roll the mixture into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter. Place them on a lined baking sheet.
  4. Freeze: Freeze the rolled truffles for about 30 minutes, until firm.
  5. Melt the Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl or double boiler, melt the chocolate chips with vegetable oil until smooth, stirring every 20 seconds.
  6. Dip the Truffles: Dip each frozen truffle into the melted chocolate, allowing the excess to drip off.
  7. Chill Again: Return the dipped truffles to the baking sheet and refrigerate until the chocolate is fully set.
